Improving Muscle Function
Kinesio Taping
The Kinesio Taping Method is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while allowing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. It is used to successfully reduce swelling, scar tissue, muscle activity and pain. While also improving muscle contraction, healing, nerve receptors and posture. Kinesio® Tex Tape and the training protocol have shown results that would have been unheard of using older methods and materials.
A.I.S. (Active isolated stretching)
Works with the body’s natural physiological makeup to improve circulation and increase elasticity of muscle joints and fascia; a strong connective tissue which performs a number of functions, including enveloping and isolating the muscle of the body, providing structural support and protection.
Trigger Point Therapy
A Trigger point is a collection of muscle cells that are in a continuous state of full contraction. They are commonly referred to as a “muscle knot”. The more technical definition describes a Trigger Point as “a hyper-irritable spot in skeletal muscle that is associated with a hypersensitive palpable nodule in a taut band. This spot is painful upon compression and can give rise to characteristic referred pain, referred tenderness, motor dysfunction, and autonomic phenomena.
Soft Tissue Release
A specific neuromuscular therapy for correcting muscular imbalances, accelerating the healing of muscular injuries, and quickly eliminating chronic pain.
Cupping Therapy
Cupping therapy is a process of suctioning or vacuuming sections of the body's for the purpose of drawing out toxins, dredging and clearing old residue our of the muscle and soft tissue. The effects are pain management, increase circulation, range of motion and decrease inflammation.
Deep Tissue Massage
Focuses on deeper layers of muscle tissue helping to breakup and eliminate adhesions or bands of painful rigid tissue in muscles, tendons, and ligaments
that can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and increase inflammation.
Ultrasound Therapy
Pulses of sound waves penetrate tissue, increasing blood flow in the treated. Ultrasound waves gently massage the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and softens scar tissue. This enhances the recover rate of damaged tissue without adding strain.
ONCOLOGY MASSAGE
Benefits include improved relaxation, fatigue and nausea. Treatments are modified according to the full spectrum of cancer-related issues: the physical, psycho-social and emotional consequences of cancer. In addition, the person's indivicual goals are considered and aspects of the desease and cancer treatment side effects.
